Speaking after Thibaut Pinot revealed 2023 will be his final year as a professional cyclist, David Gaudu expressed his desire to help give his long-time teammate the send-off he deserves.

"Thank you for all that you have been able to do," Gaudu wrote in a heartfelt message to Pinot on his official Twitter account. The Groupama-FDJ teammates have ridden many races side by side over the years and had more than their fair share of success.

With just one year left of the French duo's time together in the peloton, Gaudu is out to make sure that Pinot's career ends with a bang. "One last year where we still have a few lines to write," Gaudu continued in his tweet regarding Pinot's announcement.

32-year-old Pinot announced that this would be his final campaign after fourteen years as a professional by saying "It’s a decision I’ve carefully considered over the years. I’m excited for the new things I’ll be able to discover after my career, but I’m just as excited to race in this last year. I have rarely been so motivated before a season, and I want to finish in style. I will do everything and I will continue to do everything to achieve the best possible results."
