Bradley Wiggins contests near £1 million claim by the liquidators of his company

The liquidators of Bradley Wiggins' company are claiming one million pounds against him. Although he offered a property worth more than £600,000 as part of an Individual Voluntary Arrangement to pay back his creditors.

In summary, A company called Wiggins Rights Limited, owned by Wiggins, his former wife Cath and his mother Linda, and used to exploit Bradley Wiggins’s name and image rights, went into voluntary liquidation in 2020 with debts of £650,000. Those debts have now risen to £979,953 after reviewing the company’s books and records, with the liquidators struggling to secure repayment of an overdrawn director’s loan account of £760,373.

Administrators Georgina Eason and Michael Sanders made an update at Companies House last month on the liquidation. They announced that they had increased the amount they were claiming from Wiggins to £979,953. In 2021 they had submitted a claim for £760,373 but have now increased it to close to £1m “after reviewing the company’s books and records”.

Although Wiggins didn’t himself comment on the subject, A spokesperson for Bradley Wiggins said that he disputed the claim. The claim is the latest in a string of financial issues for the Olympic gold medallist.
