Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado on her CX Superprestige Niel victory - "I had to wait a long time for it. It's finally there"

Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado managed to climb to the top podium spot in CX Superprestige Niel. She beat Denise Betsema in the last lap and secured her first victory of the season.

Before this, she last celebrated victory on 14 February 2021 in Brussels Universities Cyclocross. This victory means a lot to her "It was way too long ago," Alvarado said in the post-race interview. She continues, "It's finally from that, I had to wait a long time for it. It's finally there. I hope I'm finally gone, that I can always compete for the win."

The victory wasn't an easy one for her, especially against Denise Betsema, who trailed her until the end. "The first part of the course I was better, the second part - with some straights - Denise was better. We worked together the whole time until the last lap. Then it was all or nothing. It was a round of full speed," concluded Alvarado.
