António Morgado is one of the two Portuguese cyclists at the start of Gent - Wevelgem. The other Portuguese rider in the peloton will be national champion Ivo Oliveira, who is also Morgado's teammate at
UAE Team Emirates. The 19-year-old has achieved good results in the pavé classics, notably with second place in Le Samyn and is looking to keep testing himself.
Speaking to Portuguese Cycling Magazine before the race, António Morgado spoke about his objectives for this Sunday's race: "It's about trying to be in the breakaway of the day and if I can't because it's difficult, trying to get my leaders well placed at the start of the straight. That's where the race will be decided."
