Alexander Kristoff won the Elfstedenronde Brugge last week in what was his first win of the season. However, the Uno-X Mobility rider is showing great form in this month of May and at 36 years of age won the brutal and spectacular Antwerp Port Epic.
Despite the many cobbled and gravel sectors spread all throughout the Belgian race, the difference was ultimately not made there. It was a sprint at the end of the day that decided the outcome of the day.
Kristoff, in great form, managed to outsprint - from within a small group - Emilien Jeanière and Oded Kogut. Arnaud de Lie was fourth and Biniam Girmay was on the Top10 on a day where the sprinters ultimately found the most success.
