Alec Segaert wins time trial at the U23 European Championships ahead of Carl-Frederik Bevort and Gustav Wang

Alec Segaert has finished quickest in the U23 European Time Trial Championships. The Belgian takes the gold medal and title of U23 European Champion.

Behind Segaert came the Danish Carl-Frederik Bévort and Gustav Wang, silver and bronze respectively. Ivan Romeo finished in fourth, just four seconds off the podium with Raúl García Pierna, the other Spanish rider, also at a high level and finished sixth.

In the junior category, the podium was occupied by Albert Withen Philipsen (gold), the Norwegian Jorgen Nordhagen (silver) and the Belgian Sente Sentjens (bronze). The best Spaniard was Markel Beloki, who finished seventh in a course that was not adapted to his characteristics;
