During stage four of the
Tour of Britain,
Gonzalo Serrano defeated
Tom Pidcock in the final sprint to secure the biggest win of his career.
After the breakaway was caught, Pidcock launched the attack, and Serrano followed him. When it looked like Pidcock would win, Serrano surprised with an attack and took the victory. “Today is a very good day, the team was incredible, in the final, my legs were really good, and I could win,” Serrano said
He described the final moments of the sprint with utmost excitement. “The final was very difficult, I could see the finish line from a distance, and I sprinted for the win. Against rivals of the quality of Pidcock and Teuns, it tastes even better, I am very happy,” concluded Serrano. Thanks to his victory, he now sits at the top position in GC.
