- Yeah.. Blame the government and the ruling elite.. and the 77 million+ other Americans who foisted this imbecile on the civilized world. Now everybody suffers, but DJT is still unaffected.. "We're gonna make a lot of moneY".. then goes out to watch a UFC fight.
- As the old saying goes.. "You win some, you lose some.". In Tadej's case, it's "You win a lot, you lose a few..".. That's not too bad.. at least, now, we're not debating whether Tadej is really juiced up or not. BTW, your sign-on name reminds me.. I used to wonder whether a rider who went through a "I'm gone.. I'm dead.." episode in the TDF, can possibly still be accused of doping.. without sounding biased. What do you think?
- Pogačar was pretty gracious in not only doing any work after failing to drop Van Aert in Carrefour de L'Arbre, but appearing to do most of it to keep the twosome clear. He would have a better chance of winning by sitting on Van Aert, even if it meant the group behind rejoined. Bringing MVDP and Laporte back into the mix might have confused things enough that he could steal one last march in the final 15 km. A 2-up sprint with Van Aert was conceding the win, to say nothing of leading it out.
That said, I was as thrilled to see Van Aert win as almost every cycling fan was, and how bravely everyone rode such an incredibly demanding epic, honoring themselves and the contest.
- Sorry, but I thought everyone was talking about bike racing over here…Like why the U.S. doesn’t have any UCI, World Tour races?
- It’s always a good story if the plucky underdog wins. So not surprising if the cycling media want to see winners other than Pog.
- Perhaps the issue is that Novak and others weren’t there, and yet he still got second. He’s shown that he can overcome unexpected moments (which fuel his drive) when winning MSR. I suspect next year will be a full on assault and he won’t be as unlucky about who wasn’t even on the team, much less the mechanical that sunk him.
- Tadej is basically a climber, so his racing instinct is understandably about how to avoid a sprint finish. His sprinting prowess pales in comparison to the likes of WVA, MVDP, Pedersen, Philipsen, Milan, Merlier, Sagan, etc., because those are sprinters who outweigh him by about 10kgs, which translates to an explosive finishing kick. Tadej's only chance against such riders is to build a gap on the climbs, and time-trial solo to the finish.
- I was already looking at race start lists to see when Pogi and Seixas would face each other, both in their own kind of territory. I think we got it coming now.
- Yep, war is bad.
Can you blame Americans for that? Look at the US poll numbers for this war, and realize that the vast majority are against it.
Blame the government and the ruling elite.
- yeah but isn’t Decathlon about to become a Swiss team?
