This weekend marked Ferrand-Prévot's first appearance in a mountain bike race for Ineos Grenadiers. She did not disappoint in her premiere cross-country race in Ineos Grenadiers kit, storming to a convincing victory.
"It’s good to be back," was all Ferrand-Prévot needed to say on her Instagram post after the race. The French rider was recently signed by INEOS to take part of it's increasing focus on the off-road disciplines, and after a disappointing Cyclocross season she is now back on track.
New Zealand's Sam Gaze (Alpecin-Deceuninck), who won a short track earlier, went on to win the cross-country race as well. Pidcock aimed for a result there but had to abandon.
Pidcock and Ferrand-Prévot will both race next weekend in Switzerland at the OKK Bike Revoltion, whilst continuing their preparations towards the first MTB World Cup race of the year at Nové Město in the Czech Republic. Both look to gain points ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics where they are set to race in the discipline.
