Wout van Aert had taken victory at Superprestige Heusden-Zolder, proving himself the best in the absence of World Champion, Mathieu van der Poel.
After a tight opening few laps, mid-race it was Wout van Aert an Eli Iserbyt that began to control the front of the race and edge clear of their rivals.
Entering the last lap, the Belgian duo remained out front together, Despite the best efforts of Iserbyt during the last lap it would be van Aert who crossed the line with his arms aloft in celebration.
