Silvia Persico headlines Italian team for Cyclocross World Championships

Silvia Persico will be in Hoogerheide leading the Italian team at the Cyclocross World Championship as she looks to improve upon her 3rd placed finish in Fayetteville last year.

The 25-year-old, two-time Italian national cyclocross champion leads a two-woman team alongside Sara Casasola and despite only racing ten crosses over this winter's period of action, Persico has six wins to her name including most notably at the aforementioned Italian national championships and a pair of 4th placed finishes at UCI World Cup events in Benidorm and Val di Sole.

Taking all categories of the cyclocross World Championship into consideration, this is the full rundown of the male and female riders the Italians will take to Hoogerheide.
