"My goal is to get into the top 5 of the UCI ranking" - Manon Bakker reveals her ambitions

Manon Bakker has won the cyclocross in the Heerderstrand. The Crelan-Corendon rider got off to a good start and immediately took the lead which she never let go off, arriving to the line solo.

"A fantastic race has been organized and done here," she expressed her excitement to CyclingOnline afterwards.

For Bakker it was half a home cross, as she told the organization in a short response afterwards. "There is not that often a cross in my neighborhood. If my trainer Bert-Jan Hamer organizes it, I of course won't say no when he asks if I'm coming to ride. But he also made a fantastic circuit.”

"The start of the season is fine. I rode well in the US and now a victory follows. The goal is to do better than last year," Bakker continued. "At the moment my goal is to get into the top 5 of the UCI ranking with a view to the European Championships. Then we will look further.¨"
