The
Crelan-Corendon rider was clearly not able to recover and find form ahead of the World Championships, as he said “you know in advance that this circuit has no secrets, that the legs do the talking. On his race, Sweeck said “I think I would have started in the top ten, but I got stuck there and had to give up a few more places. It was a bit mediocre actually”.
The former UCI World Cup winner still has a few chances to take his first win of the season though, with his next race set to be the International Closing Prize Oostmalle on February 25th. Sweeck is still hopeful that he can salvage something from this season, stating that “it hasn't been what it should have been, but I still hope to make some improvements. Maybe I can still finish the season well”.
