With the Tour Colombia set to start on Tuesday, all of the 144 riders and 24 teams taking part have been officially unveiled at the team presentation. Among these were several UCI WorldTeams, with Astana Qazaqstan Team, EF Education-EasyPost and Movistar Team all in attendance.
In addition to the World Tour teams, the Colombian National Team stands out as one of the most exciting teams in the race, with Egan Bernal as their lead rider. He is joined by his INEOS Grenadiers teammate Brandon Smith Rivera and an experienced rider in Jhonatan Restrepo.
Among the other top names at this race is Mark Cavendish, who will make his first appearance at this race in his career, bringing with him Michael Mørkøv, Cees Bol and Alexey Lutsenko for Astana Qazaqstan Team.
Richard Carapaz will also be at the start line in Paipa for stage 1 alongside his EF Education-EasyPost teammate and fan favourite Rigoberto Urán, who is returning to this race for the first time since it was last held in 2020.
This race also marks Nairo Quintana’s return to racing with Movistar Team, after he rejoined them at the start of this season. Alongside him will be fellow Colombians Fernando Gaviria and Iván Ramiro Sosa.
Other notable riders on the startlist include 47-year-old Óscar Sevilla, who is riding his 25th season as a professional rider, Giro d’Italia stage winner Jonathan Caicedo, 2017 Paris-Nice winner Sergio Henao and Paris-Nice stage winner Niccolò Bonifazio.
