"I do want to keep my options open" - Lorena Wiebes discusses potential Cyclocross career

Could Lorena Wiebes soon become a permanent member of the Cyclocross circuit? As arguably the fastest sprinter in the women's peloton she still has unfinished business on the road but as she says herself "I do want to keep my options open."

With the 23-year-old Dutchwoman recently being announced for the Superprestigecross in Niel next Friday, she's been discussing the possibility of racing in more cyclocross events, " Just look at Lucinda Brand," she says. "She shows that there are possibilities to combine the field and the road.”

After finishing 15th at Nacht van Woerden last month, Wiebes has been playing down her chances of victory, focusing more on just enjoying being back on the crosses, "My first goal is to have fun and not get kicked out of the competition. Then I look a lot more at the walking passages. Hopefully we don't have to jump off the bike too much on Friday."
