Fem Van Empel beats Lucinda Brand to win Exact Cross Beringen

Fem Van Empel secured the top podium position in the Exact Cross Beringen held on Sunday. She struggled against Lucinda Brand but eventually was able to overpower her. Lucinda Brand took the silver, and Denise Betsema climbed the podium to take the bronze.

Fem van Empel managed to have a good start. Brand was not letting Empel out of her sight. But Yara Kastelijn cleverly took the lead in the third lap whileBrand was dealing with a flat tire.

Soon Kastelijn was joined by Brand, Van Empel and Denise Betsema. Brand decided to take the lead and Van Empel followed her.

By the end of the fifth lap, Van Empel was leading as Brand was struggling to hold on. But Brand did not give up and managed to channel all her energy and try one last time in the final lap. A sprint had to bring the decision, and Van Empel proved to be the strongest. Despite her best efforts, Brand finished second in her first cross-country race of the season. Betsema placed third, Kastelijn finished fourth, and Alvarado finished fifth.
