The World Championships took over the spotlight today, but back in Europe the sprinters had another day to perform, and at the French Paris-Chauny classic it was Simone Consonni who took the win.
Cofidis managed to lead out the Italian in a strong position towards the sprint where he launched first and kept the lead. It was a very tight one as Dylan Groenewegen stormed to a very close second place, and Jason Tesson completed the podium with a third place. This was Consonni's first win of the season.
