Jens Dekker returned to cyclocross this winter after years of absence from the field. So far one that had gone quite well, with two victories already in Spanish crosses. He scored enough UCI points to be present as the Maasmechelen World Cup round this Sunday, but it did not end as expected.
"Confirmed broken radius," Dekker wrote in a message on social media. The Dutchman had already sustained an injury throughout the summer which threatened to delay his competitive return, and will now have to take time off the field once again. He crashed during the Belgian race and was not able to finish it.
