Several riders that finished the ninth stage of the
Vuelta a Espana have not started the tenth day, one of them being
Floris De Tier who has been suffering from a saddly sore and has left
Alpecin-Deceuninck with a rider less.
The Belgian was a last-minute call to the race, as in the day before the race started Oscar Riesebeek crashed and could not take to the start. De Tier took the opportunity and rode in support of Tim Merlier throughout the first week, controlling the breakaways on the flat days and helping him reach the finish within the time limit on the mountainous ones.
