Stage 6 of the ongoing
Tour de Bretagne was cancelled after a brutal crash. The French race could not go on after dozens of riders crashed in a muddy patch of road, with plenty criticizing the race organizers over safety conditions.
The incident happened during the sixth day of the race, as the peloton rode through a downhill section of the course which due to recent rains was filled with mud. The inevitable happened, with a crash being triggered by it near the head of the peloton, eventually bringing down over half of the peloton. The stage was cancelled on the spot with no result. Simon Pellaud of Tudor Pro Cycling Team leads the race into the final day.
