VIDEO: "Celebrating with a 'Pogaccia' in Monaco" - F1 star Carlos Sainz goes for training ride with Tadej Pogacar

Last Sunday in Zurich, Tadej Pogacar put in one of the greatest rides of all time to claim a first ever Rainbow Jersey in the ultimate style. Showing how the Slovenian's renowned is transcending the sport of cycling, Pogacar recently linked up with Formula 1 star, Carlos Sainz.
"Celebrating my friend Tadej Pogacar's World Champion title with a 'Pogaccia' in Monaco!" Sainz captions an image of the newly crowned world champion and a video of the pair out on a training ride on the aforementioned roads of Monaco.
"Hey Carlos, how was that Focaccia today?" Pogacar asks in the video. "Good. For a recovery ride, perfect. But for me, it's a zone 4 ride!" Sainz replies, playing on the fact that he can't quite go as fast around Monaco on two wheels with Pogacar, as he does on four wheels when the Grand Prix rolls into town. "Today was also hard for me!" Pogacar adds with a smile.

- It's not a big blow for Pogacar. Today, Pogacar relies on a close, increasingly Slovenian circle of experts. Among them, the central figure is his longtime friend Ziga Jerman, who took on the role of masseur in 2025. Jerman has known Pogačar since before his global fame, when they cycled together at the Ljubljana club Rog, so Elguezabal’s departure does not pose a threat for Pogi but rather marks the end of a very successful chapter. First, Remco must graduate from high school with excellent results to meet with the professor Pogacar in university and to be in same room with him.
