Last week, Het Nieuwsblad already reported the transfer of Stan Van Tricht to Alpecin-Deceuninck, but now the 24-year-old rider has also spoken out about his future. And it turns out: Van Tricht will indeed ride for the Roodhooft brothers' team in 2024.
"In such case, all options are weighed and we came to the conclusion that Alpecin-Deceuninck was the best choice for me," the Belgian said in conversation with Het Nieuwsblad. "Assisting the leaders in the big races and having my own chances in 1.1 races."
"I like that and have already proven that this is within my capabilities. The team management knows what to expect," said Van Tricht, who will race next year alongside world champion Mathieu van der Poel, Jasper Philipsen and Kaden Groves. These are the three most important pawns within the Alpecin-Deceuninck team.
Van Tricht turned professional in 2022 at the then Quick-Step-Alpha Vinyl. The Belgian is still looking for his first professional victory, but has already achieved several top results such as second place in Dwars door het Hageland and the Tour of Leuven-Memorial Jef Scherens.
