Stage 4 of Tour of Oman also drastically shortened due to adverse weather conditions

The 2024 Tour of Oman continues to be heavily affected by bad weather. After stage 3 of the race was shortened due to adverse weather conditions earlier this morning, Tuesday's stage 4 has also now met a similar fate.

"Due to the exceptional weather conditions and to ensure the safety of the riders, the Royal Oman Police, Oman Cycling Association and all relevant Omani authorities have worked in collaboration with the commissaires panel of the UCI, the representatives of the teams and riders and the organisation of the event, have decided to shorten stage 4, Rustaq Fort - Yitti Hills, and to propose another shorter and safer stage, Fanja - Yitti Hills," reads an official announcement.

Due to the change, the expected start-finish time has also been adjusted. "The stage will start from Fanja at 9:30 AM GST and finish in Yitti Hills 12:10 PM GST."
