Soudal Quick-Step has revealed its lineup for the
Classic Brugge-De Panne, with
Fabio Jakobsen leading the charge for the Belgian squad at the Italian event.
This season, Jakobsen has claimed the top position on the podium twice, at the second stage of Vuelta a San Juan and the second stage of Tirreno-Adriatico. He will face stiff competition from cyclists like Jasper Philipsen, Olav Kooij, and Dylan Groenewegen, but with a strong team by his side, the European champion can be confident.
Other riders include
Davide Ballerini,
Tim Declercq,
Yves Lampaert,
Jannik Steimle,
Bert Van Lerberghe, and
Ethan Vernon. Lampaert replaced Casper Pedersen, who was originally part of the team but had to drop out due to health reasons.
Sports director, Tom Steels, has confidence in the team's skills but acknowledges that the path to victory won't be smooth sailing.“We can count on a solid team. Fabio wants to set a good course here and has Bert as his lead-out, but there are also some strong men who can help in the fans. We will see how the race unfolds, but the plan is to get as many riders as possible into the final.”
