National coach of Dutch men Koos Moerenhout will continue until at least 2028 Olympic Games

Koos Moerenhout has extended his contract as Dutch national coach with KNWU. The former professional cyclist's contract expired at the end of 2024, but he has signed a contract extension until 2028. He will therefore still be in charge of the elite men during the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Moerenhout will thus complete 10 years of service at the national team, successing Thorwald Veneberg at the end of 2018. Since then, he has combined his role of a national coach with his work as a sports director at the American U23 formation Hagens Berman Jayco.

As national coach, Moerenhout achieved considerable success. To name a few Fabio Jakobsen's European title in 2022 or most recent World Championship triumph of Mathieu van der Poel in Glasgow last year. And it'll be the multidiscipline star in whom the Dutch team will put all their hopes in Paris in the chase of Olympic gold.
