Nairo Quintana announced in a press conference a few days ago that he does not plan to retire from cycling and that he will soon travel to Europe to try to find a team. However, it's not going to be easy as the MPCC calls out for action.
One of France's most influential anti-doping organizations, the MPCC, has expressed its opinion that no team should sign the Colombian climber. The MPCC (Mouvement pour un cyclisme crédible - Movement for a credible cycling) is an organization founded in 2007 by several French teams which fights to eradicate doping from cycling.
The MPCC president commented: "We must not reverse responsibilities. Nairo Quintana has not respected international standards and that is why he has been condemned by the UCI and, after his appeal, also by the CAS".
The Colombian tested positive for Tramadol at the Tour de France on two separate occasions and has since lost his contract with Arkéa Samsic. Due to the situation he's involved and likely high salary demands, the Colombian has not been able to yet find a place back in the peloton.
