Matteo Trentin gave his best in
Coppa Bernocchi but missed the podium with one spot. He finished fourth behind race winner
Davide Ballerini.
He, along with his teammates, was at the front of the peloton in the final kilometres. “We had a very strong team and attacked the race in the final,” said Trentin. He was well positioned and ready to start the sprint, but Ballerini had other plans.
The rider did not give up till the end but had to satisfy with fourth place. “We were very active getting in all the moves on the circuits, but it all came back together in the end. It wasn’t the sprint I wanted, but the team worked well, and the legs are good for the next races,” concluded Trentin.
