Mathieu van der Poel has won the
Dwars door het Hageland in 2017, and hasn't raced it since 2018. He returns to a more traditional Belgian calendar in the run-up for the Tour de France this summer and he will be the main favourite in the cobbled classic.
Alpecin-Deceuninck will be the overwhelming favourites for the explosive race, as they were at the similar Antwerp Port Epic where they completed the whole podium.
Dries de Bondt and
Timo Kielich were first and second there and are present here, alongside
Gianni Vermeersch and
Axel Laurance who will also be contenders for a win under the right circumstances.
Maurice Ballerstedt and
Alexander Krieger complete the lineup.
