Junior World Champion Emil Herzog signs with Hagens Berman Axeon

Emil Herzog has been in the headlines following his impressive win in the World Championships at the Junior level, and as many of his fellow competitors will, he's joining American Hagens Berman Axeon Team.

Team director Axel Merckx was very happy with the transfer of the German, who is likely to become a big figure within pro cycling in the coming years. "I think he’s probably had one of the best years in the junior category so we’re really excited to have him," he said in a press release.

Axeon has for many years been the home of some of the best under-23 talents, and Herzog will be no exception. He will meet some of the riders he's raced against this season there, including António Morgado who is also set to join in the 2023 season, making it a team incredibly packed with promising talents.

"Yeah I'm super happy to join Axeon to ride with riders from other countries and make new friends,” Herzog said. “Of course I also want to gain more experience and develop as a rider on and off the bike.”
