Viewed as one of the hottest prospects in French cycling, Kevin Vauquelin has so far been kept away from the pressures of the Tour de France. In 2024 however, he's keen to show his talents at his home Grand Tour.
"The Tour de France is the race that brings every professional cyclist fully into their career," the 22-year-old, Team Arkea Samsic rider tells his team's official website. "We all dream of it because it belongs to the heritage of France, but also because, for the public, it is a place of festive gathering. I obviously dream of competing in the Tour. It's more than a desire."
So far, Vauquelin is yet to complete a Grand Tour, having been unable to finish the Vuelta a Espana earlier this year. Nevertheless, big things are hoped for Vauquelin in the coming years.
"What could be my objectives? Open my eyes wide, learn, take pleasure in it, and if ever an opportunity presents itself: seize it," Vauquelin previews. "Another great source of motivation: the Tour this year is will finish in Nice, on the roads on which I have been training for several seasons."
