Jasper Philipsen victorious ahead of Mark Cavendish and Tadej Pogacar at Tour de France Prudential Singapore Criterium

Jasper Philipsen has claimed victory in a sprint ahead of Mark Cavendish and Tadej Pogacar in Singapore at the Tour de France Prudential Criterium.

Whilst the road season may be over, there are still bragging rights to be claimed, even in more relaxed races such as this one. Tadej Pogacar was doing Tadej Pogacar things, launching a long range attack alongside Sepp Kuss and Giulio Ciccone in an attempt to deny the sprinters. When the peloton neared the catch with around 5km to go however, instead of sitting up, Pogacar attacked clear once again.

Ultimately though, despite a brave effort it wasn't enough to hold on for victory as the sprinters reeled in the Slovenian with a few hundred metres left as the Tour de France Green Jersey winner Jasper Philipsen took victory with legendary sprinter Mark Cavendish second.
