After having debuted with a 41st place last year,
Tom Pidcock is looking to improve on that result this year as he comes into the race as one of the big favourites after his late dash of form shown previously this week. Now, at the Tour de Flandres, the 22-year old has talked at the start regarding his ambitions and what he expects from the race.
"It's the first time with the crowds and it's pretty special, I'm excited we're all excited. That's giving me confidence I'm going to race like I know I can, how I want to, and just kind of hope that the distance is there," Pidcock said.
Upon the question of how would he be racing, the Briton was reluctant to give away a possible game plan from within
INEOS Grenadiers: "I think we can't be on the back foot that's the important thing, racing at the front and be in the race that's the most fun place to be and also where you need to be."
"It can be anywhere honestly. It could be the Kwaremont the first time..." Pidcock concluded. With Dylan van Baarle, Jhonatan Narváez and young talent Ben Turner, INEOS are coming in with a very strong team that have avoided the illnesses that have affected many in the race.
