David Gaudu races Tour de France and Vuelta a Espana in 2024; Groupama-FDJ reveal leaders for Grand Tours

Groupama - FDJ have made up their plans for the season's Grand Tours. Whilst the Giro d'Italia remains open, David Gaudu will aim for the Tour de France and Vuelta a España, whilst it's youngsters will have opportunities to shine in the Grand Tours as well.

Gaudu, ninth in last year's edition of the Grand Boucle, return once again. Perhaps with stage winning ambitions as last year's plan to fully back him up proved unsuccessful. He may aim for the GC and then stage wins at the Vuelta a España which he will also race, but it is also possible to chase a good GC result in both. In Spain he will be joined by Lenny Martínez who put on an impressive performance last summer and led the race for a few days.

In France meanwhile, stage hunters Stefan Küng, Valentin Madouas and Romain Grégoire are all confirmed to be targeted. They will be the team's core throughout July. The latter will make his debut in the French Grand Tour after having raced the Vuelta and the team has high hopes that the 20-year old can begin to battle alongside the best for stage wins.

"After discovering the Vuelta in 2023, I'm going to take part in my first Tour de France in 2024," Gregoire said. "It's obviously a dream, but the aim isn't only to go there: it's to perform well. I learnt a lot last year, I won a few races, but I still want to go one step further and establish myself at the highest level. I can't wait to take on the biggest races on the calendar. I know I still have a lot to learn, but I'm approaching the season confidently."
