Another blow to Tadej Pogacar's Tour de France team? Pavel Sivakov joins Juan Ayuso in abandoning Criterium du Dauphine

A second of the expected support squad for Tadej Pogacar at the upcoming Tour de France has abandoned the 2024 Criterium du Dauphine. After Juan Ayuso left the race ahead of stage 6, Pavel Sivakov has also now departed the Dauphine early on stage 8.

Both men were caught up in the mass crash which neutralised stage 5 earlier in the week. Ayuso decided to leave the race that night as a precaution and now, despite carrying on for a few extra days, Sivakov has joined his teammate in resting up and recuperating ahead of the Tour de France in a few weeks, where Tadej Pogacar will be looking for his second Grand Tour win of the year.

As of this moment, not much more is now in regards to the situation surrounding Sivakov's abandon. As soon as we get more information, we will keep you updated.
