A second of the expected support squad for Tadej Pogacar at the upcoming Tour de France has abandoned the 2024 Criterium du Dauphine. After Juan Ayuso left the race ahead of stage 6, Pavel Sivakov has also now departed the Dauphine early on stage 8.
Both men were caught up in the mass crash which neutralised stage 5 earlier in the week. Ayuso decided to leave the race that night as a precaution and now, despite carrying on for a few extra days, Sivakov has joined his teammate in resting up and recuperating ahead of the Tour de France in a few weeks, where Tadej Pogacar will be looking for his second Grand Tour win of the year.
As of this moment, not much more is now in regards to the situation surrounding Sivakov's abandon. As soon as we get more information, we will keep you updated.

Replace him with Del Toro.

Problem solved.

I think it's good for Tadej. Some Giro ruleurs are the best than Sivakov. They might get the chance again. Maijka might replace easily by Yates but Stake Laengen and Novak won't. If Ayuso fit and consistent, It will help by making unpredictable squad but now he's unfit and inconsistent. Anyways we'll see what the Tour bring to us.

Not really. Pogi can win with any team as shown in the Giro and UAE have plenty of spares
