Alpecin-Deceuninck strike deal with Jumbo-Visma's nutrition app at Mathieu van der Poel's request

What and when the riders of Alpecin-Deceuninck eat will now be decided by Foodmaker Pro as the team follows in the footsteps of Jumbo-Visma by signing a deal with the nutritional app.

Foodmaker and Jumbo-Visma have had a long-standing relationship that has proved to be more than beneficial for the Dutch-based team. "Foodmaker has the resources and knowledge to ensure that we can take a step forward in the field of nutrition. We also call on their nutrionists," Alpecin-Deceuninck team boss Philip Roodhooft explains.

"We have been working for four years with our own chefs and general nutrition plans based on weight and type of rider," Alpecin-Deceuninck performance coach Kristof De Kegel continues. "Our riders and certainly also Mathieu van der Poel were asking for individual nutrition schedules. We needed an app for that."

"As far as I know, we are the second cycling team with its own nutrition app based on the calorie consumption during training and races per individual cyclist, calculated via their Wattage meter and measuring system TrainingPeaks."
