Aggressive performance earns Christophe Laporte strong win at Binche-Chimay-Binche

Binche-Chimay-Binche saw an active edition with new World Champion on the road attacking quite a lot, but the win has been taken by Jumbo-Visma's Christophe Laporte after a late attack which has succeeded.

The action started early on in the day, with several dangerous attacks starting with around 60 kilometers to go with Remco Evenepoel consistently part of the action. Laporte, and dozens of other riders formed part of several small - and medium-sized - groups, however they would always come back together, lacking true terrain to make the difference.

Christophe Laporte and Rasmus Tiller attacked with 11 kilometers to go, building a gap over the reduced peloton near the top of the penultimate slight ascent of the day. The duo had the collaboration and the legs to keep the effort going until the end, with Laporte dropping his group companion inside the final kilometer in it's cobbled sector, and riding away to the win.

Tiller rode to a second place, with Hugo Page winning the sprint for the third place out of those who chased the closest.
