It is a big day for
Filippo Ganna, The Italian rider has finally realised his dream of creating a new
UCI Hour record. He beat Dan Bigham’s record of 55.548 km. He created a new record of 56.792 km in 227 laps in one hour. The distance surpassed those logged by Chris Boardman in the now-banned Superman position from 1996, unifying the hour records.
Just like Dan BIgham had done earlier this year, Ganna rode a controlled effort which saw his pace increase throughout the hour. One of the world's best time-trialists combined with an incredible feat of engineering and the budget that
INEOS Grenadiers allocated for the event have seen the Italian break the record.
