VIDEO: Mathieu van der Poel shows off bike handling skills with European Championships just around the corner

Mathieu van der Poel is preparing for the last races of his road season in sunny Spain. The 29-year-old Dutchman is in full workload ahead of the two big championships, but still finds time to go viral on social media. There he regularly trains with Freddy Ovett, who shared a delicious video of MVDP on his Instagram.

The world champion from Kapellen briefly shows how well he has the bike under control in the middle of a deserted road. For seconds we see him playfully balancing on his rear wheel.

Remco Evenepoel, who trains with the men sometimes. also saw the video of Ovett. "Still need to work on the cheering gesture a bit, mate," he laughs at Ovett's attempt to recreate the stars' celebration. "I never win anything, so I don't really have a chance to practice it," Ovett responded with a wink at Evenepoel.
