Tom Dumoulin begins a new adventure. The Dutch ex-cyclist becomes co-owner of Velor, a young cycling clothing brand with a focus on sustainability. The cycling clothing brand, founded by another former pro: Tom Leezer. He wants to show, together with Dumoulin, that sustainable cycling clothing goes hand in hand with quality, appearance and comfort.
“Within Velor I will mainly focus on product development and optimizing cycling clothing with sustainable materials and an optimal fit,” says Dumoulin. “We can only continue to enjoy cycling if we also take good care of the world we cycle through. Velor's mission to develop sustainable cycling clothing is in line with this line of thought.”
“With minimal impact on nature and with a positive impact on the world and the people around us. This appeals to me enormously and it fits in well with how I stand in life. Joining Velor is therefore a logical step for me,” said the 32-year-old, who put an end to his successful professional cycling career last year.
“We are very happy and proud to be able to add Dumoulin to our team of specialists,” says Leezer, founder of Velor and former teammate of Dumoulin at Jumbo-Visma. “With his knowledge and experience in cycling and his passion for nature, the arrival of Tom fits perfectly with our goal to inspire cyclists all over the world and to ensure that sustainable and high-quality clothing, made with respect for the environment, become the standard.”
