Shirin van Anrooij beats Fem van Empel to secure victory in CX World Cup Beekse Bergen

Shirin van Anrooij has won the UCI World Cup Beekse Bergen. She beat Puck Pieterse and Fem van Empel in the final lap and secured the victory. This is her first victory of the season.

Fem Van Empel started the race with a nice lead. Puck Pieterse, Marianne Vos and Blanka Kata Vas followed her. Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado also joined the group in the second lap.

Van Empel was leading, but in the forest section, she made a slight mistake which gave Pieterse a chance to take the lead. Alvarado crashed in the fourth lap, she hit the barrier and fell hard.

Shirin van Anrooij attacked in the fifth lap and managed to grab a lead of 3 seconds. She was able to defend her lead till the finish line and secured her first victory of the season. Fem van Empel finished second while Puck Pieterse took the bronze.
