"I did hurt myself, on my shoulder and knee especially" - Mathieu van der Poel confirm injuries from crash

In the Superprestige Boom, Mathieu van der Poel started well, but he crashed on the second lap. Following his crash, the Dutchman was out of contention for victory, but he did not give up and finished the race.

"I did hurt myself, on my shoulder and knee especially," the Dutchman informed of his injuries. He continues, “I was still shouting something to the material post, I was not focused for a moment on the corner that was coming. That still surprised me a bit. I was just riding out so I wouldn't get too stiff and to get some cross-rhythm," explained Van der Poel.

Although injured, van der Poel still plans to participate in the Antwerp World Cup tomorrow. "I had especially those first two rounds that my shoulder and knee hurt, but at the end, it went well I had the impression. It's not necessary for itself, but it's often best after a crash to continue riding anyway. In the beginning, it really didn't go, but later it started to turn a bit better. However, I haven't really found my rhythm again. But I'll be at the start tomorrow," Van der Poel concluded.
