World Championships taking place in Tábor this weekend, reigning World Champion
Fem van Empel will be looking to defend her title against the likes of Puck Pieterse and Blanka Kata Vas. The Dutch rider will go into the race with a lot of confidence, having won the last two rounds of the UCI World Cup in Benidorm and Hoogerheide over the past two weekends.
In an interview with Wielerflits after her victory in Hoogerheide, Van Empel said on her preparation ahead of the World Championships that “I am quite relaxed and hope to get through the coming weeks that way. I'm feeling good. It is now important to stay healthy and then have a blast in Tábor”.
