The No. 10 in Gavere World Cup, Cameron Mason had a solid day out in the Belgian mud, finishing in the middle of the pack of the best true cyclocross specialists, who stared in slight disbelief at how the 'Three kings' came a bit sooner this year, and left the competition in dust.

The race was highly anticipated among the fans, as it'll be one of the opportunities to witness Mathieu van der Poel, Wout Van Aert and Tom Pidcock battle it out in the field. In this regard, Gavere didn't disappoint, according to Mason. "Some of the craziest crowds I have seen at a race today, but also some of the most dangerous."

He then continues to explain in his X post. "Fans leaning over the barriers, looking the wrong way and impeding the riders. Double barriers needed at most points of the track to keep the fans back and to stop them affecting racing."

This comes at a time when we have learnt about the in-race incident in which Van der Poel, on his way to victory, shoved away a lapped competitor who was taking a selphie with a fan, not paying attention to the race.
