Emotions run high on the course in Gavere. Mathieu van der Poel leading the race quickly found himself lapping riders, and one overtake was quite aggressive in a tricky section.
Van der Poel found a rider running on course, but as he tried to follow his line, he lost full balance and shoved the rider as a result. The moment was captured by the race broadcast. This was Costa Rica's Felipe Nystrom, who was said to be taking a selfie with a fan at the time of the overtake and didn't spot the Dutchman coming through.
