Denise Betsema's victory in Superprestige Ruddervoorde "is very good for morale" ahead of European Championship

In a similar fashion to last year, Denise Betsema won the Superprestige Ruddervoorde. She beat Inge van der Heijden in the final lap and secured victory. This is her first victory of the season.
"This is very good for morale," Betsema said in the post-race interview. "I'm super happy with it; in the last races, I always fell next to the podium. A win like that makes up for a lot then. This is a lap that suits me well and that I really enjoy doing."
Over the course of the first few laps, Betsema gradually increased her lead to ensure her victory. "I was able to save some more. Once the difference is big enough, it works out. But even so, it was a tough race. Those technical passages just make it very intense" said Betsema.
Betsema will be targeting European Championships next week in Namur. “I want to train more towards the championships. In that regard, it works out well. I'm also really looking forward to Namur. I have mentioned the European Championship as a goal, I hope to finally grab a jersey there. I know it's going to be very difficult, but I'm going for it," concluded Betsema.
