Cyclocross rumoured to make an Olympic debut at the 2030 Winter Olympics in French Alpes

For a long time now, the Olympic Games have had a place for Road and Track cycling. With the addition of XCO Mountain Bike event in London 2012, BMX and even the "style" disciplines, there seems to have been only one overlooked for a long time now - Cyclocross.

It's not without a reason. The discipline usually takes place in winter, but as such it was hard to find its place among the "more traditional" winter Olympic sports. Natually it also didn't make sense for the sport famous for sending riders through mud, rain, cold and often even snow, to take place in 30°C heats of summer.

However, now it seems that a solution was reached with a massive help of the UCI president David Lappartient who made it his goal to see the Cyclocross at the home Winter Olympics in 2030, Karl Vannieuwkerke in Paris By Night show. According to the Belgian, this should be announced next year as the 2030 Games come a bit closer.
