- Lost season? what a joke of a headline. Jumbo won the Giro, second in the Tour. multiple stage wins and one day wins, plus podium.
As for Jonas, this year alone:
1st Overall Volta ao Algarve
1st Stage 5 (ITT)
1st Stage 3 (TTT) Paris–Nice
2nd Overall Tour de France
2nd Overall Critérium du Dauphiné
Most cyclists would take these palmares for a CAREER much less a season.
I would hardly say the sky is falling. in Tadej’s two losses, he had a total of 4 or 5 bad days at most. Same with Jonas. I think Tadej is better, but incrementally, not exponentially.
- Another oldie who just wants broken bones and crashes for the sake of tradition
- I don't want to hate on Julich, because I actually like the guy, his attention to technical detail when discussing time trials is impressive. Maybe I'm a bit cynical but he was able to complete these Tours and aim as high on GC as possible because of epo use. He admitted to it.
I think guys like Julich and Armstrong do have a place to make their opinions heard in moden cycling, but I really don't need to hear from them all the time. It gets a bit old.
- Any rider who wins the tour riding that stage for the win is a true champion. Pog was seriously fatigued. If Vin had not let tradition die of not attacking yellow on the last stage who knows what the outcome there might have been had he raced it? If this sort of hard final stage continues, riders are going to have to look at how the race from now on with no easy last stage to wind down with. Was that then Van Aert's plan all along? He showed very little form in the whole tour.
- yawn. Let's not forget that Bobby "podiumed" in 1998, the year several riders got tossed in the whole Festina debacle, and confessed to extensive doping in 2012. Why does this site keep publishing comments from riders like him?
- favorite rider - exudes class and joy, doesn’t make excuses.
- STILL we have this kind of a man 😜
- He somehow managed to make that 'race' look even more ridiculous than it already was.
- Don't disagree with some of your points but it's been proven in other sports I follow/involved in exactly what happens. The sport is "absorbed" and all of a sudden they need to creats the income stream for the TV company to use it, Ice Hockey, motocross, motorcycle trials etc
- they also had sub par from WVA (wiped clean by Paris defeat of Pog),Jorgensen, Yates. Pog lost Ameida so the big mtns. were again one on one and- Pog is better. He hasn't had a big crash, no one hopes he does. UAE has upper hand but still only 1 -3 bad days away from reversal.
