Cameron Mason also competed in the race in the X2O Trophy Kortrijk on Saturday. Ultimately, the Briton finished third in the cross, behind Lars van der Haar and winner Eli Iserbyt.
"The tactics of Eli and Michael helped me a bit to get back into the first group," said Mason. "Once I got there, it was quite chaotic. I saw what they were doing. Lars is very experienced: he paid very close attention to the gears. I was always on the fence, but everyone was at their limit. Everyone made mistakes, including me. But I am very happy with this third place."
