With the stage 7 individual time-trial of the 2024 Tour de France taking the riders from Nuits-Saint-Georges to Gevrey-Chambertin, fans have come out in force to celebrate the peloton. No one has had more support than Lidl-Trek's Julien Bernard however.
The 32-year-old Frenchman, who is competing in the fourth Tour de France of his career, was given a heroes welcome on the slopes of the sole climb of the day. Not too concerned about setting a blistering time, Bernard was also able to soak up the adulation, waving to friends and even at one point, coming to a complete stop to kiss his partner and child.
