Amstel Gold Race enters the Flanders Classics group. The opening race of the Ardennes Triptych will in fact change organizer starting from 2025, taking over from Leo van Vliet, who will celebrate his 30 years as race director the following year, before definitively saying goodbye to a race that he has brought into modern cycling, with the creation of the women's race and an event dedicated to amateurs to accompany the professional race.
Scheduled for next year on Sunday 14 April, the Dutch classic will therefore become part of the Flemish organizer from the following year, which thus confirms itself as increasingly international in an expansion that reaffirms its position as the third most important organizer in the world, behind only ASO and RCS.
In fact, the agency's portfolio includes the biggest races in Belgium, starting from the Tour of Flanders, with an almost hegemony regarding the cobblestones given that they also organize Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, Dwars Door Vlaanderen and Ghent – Wevelgem, as well as Scheldeprijs, Brabantse Pijl and Brussels Cycling Classic, without forgetting the agreement in recent months with the Tour de Suisse, the first sign of expansion abroad.
